Question
How do we connect Digital Hive to Qlik View?
Answer
As a Digital Hive administrator, connecting to Qlik View can be accomplished via the following steps:
Install the QlikView NTFS Auth Application
- In your extracted Digital Hive installation archive, locate this folder <DigitalHive installer location>\DigitalHive-installer-win-x64\QlikView NTFS Auth
- Copy the contents of the QlikView NTFS Auth folder to your QlikView web server
- In Notepad (or any plain-text editor), open application.properties and set the server.port and server.port.http properties. For example
- Edit startTheiaAuth.bat and replace the default, C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_65\bin\java with the actual Java path on the server
- Launch Command Prompt as Administrator and execute startTheiaAuth.bat
Adding a QlikView connector in Digital Hive
- Launch Digital Hive and login with an admin account
- Click your avatar (initial on top right)
- Select Manage Digital Hive
- Click Content
- Click
- Click
- In the Give it a name section, enter a name, for example I have called it QlikView
- In the Choose the version section, select the version of your QlikView server
- In the System Credentials section, enter the user name, password and Namespace information of a system account that has access to everything
NOTE: Namespace is the User directory in QMC
- For the Your Account section, enter a user that we can use to authenticate with to finish the configuration. Assuming, you have a Qlik Sense account, select A different account, and enter the Username, Password and Namespace
- In the Server information section enter the Qlik Web Server and Qlik Management Server URLs
- In the Properties section Enter the Qlik Management Port Number (provided by QlikView admin), Service Key (provided by QlikView admin), theiaAuthPortNumber (this the port number that you entered in step 3 of Steps to Install the QlikView NTFS Auth Application). For example:
- Click
- Click DONE
The QlikView connector is now created and you can now add content.
