Connecting to Salesforce

Question

How do we connect Digital Hive to the Salesforce CRM platform?

Answer

Before Digital Hive can successfully connect to Salesforce, a Connected App must first be created within Salesforce Setup. 
  1. Launch Salesforce Setup
  2. Navigate to App Manager
  3. Click New Connected App 
  4. In the Basic Information section, enter values for the Connected App Name, API Name, Contact Email and Contact Phone fields
  5. In the API (Enable OAuth Settings)
    1. Check Enable OAuth Settings
    2. Enter the Digital Hive redirect URL for the callback (example https://digital.hive.com:9443/theia/oauth/authFinish)
    3. Add these OAuth scopes
      1. Manage user data via APIs (api)
      2. Manage user data via Web browsers (web)
      3. Perform requests at any time (refresh_token, offline_access) 
    4. Save and Continue
  6. Copy the Consumer Key (will be used when creating the connection within Digital Hive)
  7. Beside Consumer Secret click Click to reveal 
  8. Copy the Consumer Secret (will be used when creating the connection within Digital Hive)

Steps to Create the Salesforce Connector in Digital Hive

As a Digital Hive administrator, connecting to Salesforce CRM can be accomplished via the following steps:
  1. Open the Digital Hive Control Center
  2. Click on the Connectors and select New Connector 
  3. Select Salesforce
  4. Provide a name for the Connector
  5. In the Server Information section enter the Base URL for your Salesforce organization
  6. In the Properties section, add the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret values that were captured earlier from Salesforce Setup
  7. Ensure that the Redirect URI value listed here is what was entered within the Salesforce Connected App. If they don't match, update Salesforce
  8. Click Next
