How to Launch Artifacts in the Native Tool

Can I launch the report or dashboard in the native tool? 

Answer

Yes, this is possible for IBM Cognos Analytics and PowerBI. 

Launching an artifact in the underlying BI tool from Explore Content 

  1. Launch Digital Hive
  2. Click your avatar and select Explore Content

  3. Navigate to the artifact that you want to launch in the underlying BI tool.
  4. Hover over the artifact to bring up the options (in this example, it is a Cognos Analytics report)

  5. Click  to open the menu
  6. Hover over the arrow beside Open with... and click Open in IBM Cognos Analytics
  7. The report will now display in IBM Cognos Analytics

Launching an artifact in the underlying BI tool from a Catalog Page, Content Lane, Search Page and File Explorer

  1. Launch Digital Hive and navigate to the Hive you want to edit
  2. Click the hamburger and select Open Designer
  3. Click the Content Lane (This example uses a Content Lane, but the same process applies for a Catalog Page, Search Page, and File Explorer)
  4. In Content Lane properties scroll down to Content Launching and select Application or New Tab
  5. Save and Exit
  6. Navigate to that Content Lane and click , hover over the arrow beside Open with... and click Open in IBM Cognos Analytics 
  7. You will see the report open IBM Cognos Analytics
