Is it possible to modify the text of a button tooltip within Digital Hive?
Answer
Hive authors have the ability to modify both the text of a tooltip as well as the size of the tooltip text. Each widget, such as buttons, have their own custom text that can be configured. Altering the tooltip font size is done globally for all widgets within a Hive.
For example, this is what the default text looks like for a Button widget that points to the Digital Hive Customer Success Portal.
To change the tooltip text of the Button:
- Launch the Hive to be modified
- Open the Hive Designer and navigate to the desired page
- Click on the Button object
- Within the Properties panel on the right-hand side of the screen, scroll down to the Button Properties section
- Enable the Show Tooltip on Hover option

- Provide the desired text in the Tooltip Text* section

- Save the change to the Hive
When viewing the button tooltip, following the changes:
Some standards, or personal preference, may require the tooltip text to be changed. To accomplish this:
- Launch the Hive to be modified
- Open the Hive Designer
- Within the Properties panel on the right-hand side of the screen, ensure that the Hive Properties
section is selected
- Scroll down to the Styles section
- Click the Change the text styling
dropdown
- Hover over the Tooltip entry and press the pencil icon

- Change the settings to achieve the desired outcome. Use the preview on the right-hand side to verify the changes

- Click outside the dialog box to close style editor
- The Tooltip entry will now reflect the changes and have a blue dot to indicate that the default has been changed

- Click outside the dialog box to close the text styling window
- Save the changes to the Hive.
When hovering on the Button, or any other object that generates a tooltip, the new appearance will be displayed.
