Sharing Content through Microsoft Teams

Sharing Content through Microsoft Teams

Question

Is there a way in Digital Hive to share content to other users in the organization?

Answer

Digital Hive provides the ability for users to share content directly through Microsoft Teams. This enables users to collaborate with individual users or groups and ensures that the report security, and access through Digital Hive, is still respected. This also removes the need for users to download reports into different formats and then distribute the reports, causing the organization to lose control of their reporting assets.

To share content to Teams:

  1. Within Digital Hive, locate the content to be shared
  2. If sharing a report that has already been launched and rendered in the content viewer pop-up window, click on the  icon in the header menu, and select Share

  3. If sharing a report that hasn't been opened yet, located on a Catalog page, Content Lane, or search results, for example, hover over the object and press the  icon in the header and select Share
  4. Selecting the Share option will force the user to choose a mechanism in which to share the content. For this use case, select Share to Teams

  5. This will launch a pop-up window in which you can construct the desired message, and select the recipients, either individual users or a group channel
  6. In Share to Microsoft Teams dialog, select a group or individual(s) to share the content with
  7. Then optionally, a custom message can be added in addition to the Digital Hive link to the object
  8. Press Share to send the message to the intended recipients in Teams

Do not modify the URL that is included in the message as this will remove the ability for the recipient(s) to access the content.
