How do we connect Digital Hive to IBM Planning Analytics?

Answer

As a Digital Hive administrator, connecting to IBM Planning Analytics can be accomplished via the following steps:
  1. Open the Digital Hive Control Center
  2. Click on the Connectors and select New Connector 
  3. Select IBM Planning Analytics with Watson 

  4. Provide a name for the Connector
  5. Select PAW Authentication as the Authentication Method (whether authentication mode 1 or 5 is being used, PAW Authentication is the correct setting)
  6. Provide the System Credentials which will be used for indexing the Planning Analytics content
  7. If the system credential used is not the same as your credential, select the A different account option within the Your Account section
  8. To connect successfully, the base URL for the PAW Server must be provided. For example:
     
  9. As of the 2025.1 release, additional settings are required for seamless access to IBM Planning Analytics when using Mode 5 security. In the Properties section, enable the Use Security Mode 5 checkbox
  10. Provide the name of the Cognos security Namespace

  11. In the Settings section, if the Cognos Gateway and Cognos Dispatcher server types are not already listed, press the + ADD SERVER INFO
    button twice
  12. Provide the correct details for both the Cognos Gateway and Cognos Dispatcher entries

  13. Once all the values have been supplied, press the Next button which will bring you the dialog where content needs to be added to the Digital Hive environment
