Connecting to Microsoft PowerBI Embedded

Is it possible to use Microsoft Power BI Embedded within Digital Hive?

Answer

This feature was made available in the 2026.1 release.

As a Digital Hive administrator, connecting to Microsoft PowerBI Embedded can be accomplished via the following steps:

Connecting Digital Hive to PowerBI requires that an app registration has been created within Azure. For more information about this process: Create a Digital Hive Azure App Registration for PowerBI

1. Open the Digital Hive Control Center
   
2. Click on the Connectors and select New Connector 
   
3. Select Microsoft PowerBI Embedded
   
4. Provide a name for the Connector
   
5. Select the Power BI Embedded SSO authentication method
   
6. Enter the app registration App ID and App Secret, and Tenant ID values (obtained from the Azure administrator)
   
7. Verify that the default Return URI matches what was used in the Azure application registration process
   
8. Ensure that the Use Service Principal as System Credential checkbox is enabled
9. Press Next
