Overview
This feature is available starting in the 2025.2 Digital Hive release.
Administrators may require insight into adoption and utilization statistics to get a better understanding of the Digital Hive environment. There is an area within the Control Center that provides Administrators with visibility into commonly asked questions.
To access the operational visualizations:
- Log into Digital Hive as an Administrator
- Using the user avatar, select Manage Digital Hive
- Click on Monitor -> Usage which display the various metrics and visualizations
By default, the page is filtered to display the information for the current day. There is a date filter available that allows you to alter the period or define a custom one.
To the right of the date filter, is a filter that allows you to refine the results to a particular connector. Using the filter dropdown, a list of all configured connectors will be displayed.
Beside the time and connector filters is a list of high level metrics. These will update based on the filters that are active.
- The number of searches that have been executed
- The total number of sessions (every time a user logs into Digital Hive)
- The total amount of users (value aligns to the Security -> Users count)
- The amount of unique users that have logged into Digital Hive. This is a valuable metric to track adoption
- The micro-chart details the hourly breakdown of when users are accessing Digital Hive. This is great for identifying peak usage hours
There are multiple visualizations available as well:
- Top Searches
- Connector Logons
- Report Execution by Connector
- Total Hive Views
- Connector Content Usage
Top Searches
Search is a powerful use case within Digital Hive and as a result, all searches and queries are tracked. This visualization shows a breakdown of the top search criteria used in searches by users for the selected period. This is valuable information for proactive administrators who can analyze what users are searching for and then either customize existing Hives or Pages to surface more of that content, or create net new content.
Connector Logons
When a user logs into Digital Hive, they are also logged into the underlying content systems that they are entitled to access. This visualization highlights each configured connector, and how many unique users have logged into each connector during the selected period. In the example below, 4 users have logged into the Network File Share connector, 3 users have access Cognos, PowerBI, and Tableau, and the rest of the connectors have a single user that have been authenticated. These counts show unique users for each connector, but it is highly probable that a user has access to multiple systems.
Report Execution by Connector
Highlighting the number of objects accessed, by connector, this chart provides administrators with the insight into how active the system is. The X axis contains the different viewing periods and the context will change based on the period filter value selected. For example, when viewing Today, Last 7 Days, or 30 Days, the X axis will show a daily breakdown of content accessed. When longer periods are used, the columns will change to month periods. Shown below is when viewing the Last year.
Total Hive Views
To monitor the traffic to individual Hives, this visualization provides the values. The values here are based on traffic during a unique session. For example, if a user opens a Hive, navigates a different Hive, and then returns to the original Hive, the count would be 1.

When upgrading from previous versions before 2025.2, unlike the other chart types, the values in this graph will only show data collected as of the installation of the 2025.2 release. This is because some some changes had to be implemented to allow for Hives being renamed.
Connector Content Usage
This graph highlights the percentage of utilized content versus the total amount of content available in Digital Hive. The solid bar represents the percent value of the utilized content and the shaded area represents the percent value of content that has not been accessed.
