What's New in the Digital Hive 2026.1 Release

This article details the new product features, enhancements, and resolved issues, that were included as part of the Digital Hive 2026.1 release.

Prerequisites

To move to this release, this must be a new installation, or you must have an existing Digital Hive 2.x installation. You can install over any fix level releases that were previously applied to Digital Hive.

New Features & Enhancements

Multilingual pages

Multilingual support is now managed at the page level, simplifying configuration and removing the need to enable multilingual strings on each Hive element.

For more information, consult the Multilingual Pages knowledge base document.

New Unified Filter panel options

Unified Filters provide users with the ability to filter visualizations, from different content systems, with single prompt controls to make it seem like the visuals are integrated. Although the appearance of the Unified Filters panel could but customized, the location was always fixed on the right hand side of the screen.

This release now enables the ability to not only customize the location of the panel but also control whether it's permanently displayed or if it is transient. Shown here is an example of the panel that has been fixed to the top of the dashboard.

Configuring the behavior and location of the filter panel is done through the Digital Hive Designer.
  1. Launch Digital Hive as a user that has edit access to a Hive
  2. Using the Hive Launcher , select Open Designer. If Open Designer is not visible, you do not have edit access to the current Hive
  3. Navigate to the page containing the Unified Filters
  4. Open the page properties and look for the Unified Filtering section
  5. Within this section will be the various parameters that will control the visibility behavior, location, and panel size. The settings below are the ones that generated the filter panel visible in the example above

Health Check application for testing system readiness

Digital Hive administrators now have the ability to create a test matrix that can be scheduled to run periodically. The Health Check will test key system vitals as well as provide insight into content availability from the configured connectors. These health checks can be executed manually on-demand or scheduled with an option to have the results sent out by email.

Info
For more information, consult the Configuring the Digital Hive Health Check application knowledge base article.

Manage Postgresql backups through the Control Center

As part of the Digital Hive platform, an automated process exists that will backup the entire Digital Hive content store (Postgresql) and save them on the file system. Without a third-party or manual process, the amount of backups will grow and will consume disk space. To keep the Digital Hive footprint to a minimum, it is now possible to control the amount of backups that are maintained.

Launch content artifacts in the native tool

New in this release is the ability to launch a report in the native BI tool. For example, you can configure a Content Lane to have a default launch action to be able to open a report in a new window in the underlying BI tool that it came from.
Info
For more information, consult the How to Launch Artifacts in the Native Tool knowledge base article.

Databricks Connector

New in this release is the ability to connect to Databricks and view/embed dashboards.

Support for Copilot with Microsoft Power BI

Microsoft Power BI provides the ability to leverage Copilot so that users can leverage AI to gain additional insight and context to the visualizations. In this release, Digital Hive has made it possible to include access to Copilot when Power BI reports are executed or embedded.

Within the properties of the Power BI connector, is a new option called Show Copilot button in embed. When this option is enabled on the connector, the Copilot link will be displayed (when it's enabled within Power BI).

Here is an example of the user experience when Copilot is enabled.

Alert
The Power BI action bar will automatically be visible so that the Copilot button can be displayed. This does not enable any additional functionality that the user wouldn't have access to if they viewed the report directly within Power BI.

Idea
If Copilot is only desired in some Hives for certain embedded Power BI reports, instead of enabling Copilot at the connector level, modify the Execution parameters  of the embedded report.

Resolved Issues and other Enhancements

  1. Subsequent report executions in a 'new tab' will open new tabs and not reuse an existing tab
  2. Ability to place Power BI Report page menu on the left-hand side or bottom of the report
  3. Recursively saving values results in an Elasticsearch 413 error
  4. "java.lang.IllegalStateException: Queue full" error seen in logs when indexing fails
  5. Background server process to refresh existing users PowerBI and Sharepoint Online access tokens
  6. Request to perform a large Excel import of metadata values times out
  7. Spotfire connector renamed to reflect proper branding
  8. Content utilization report has incorrect data format on a column
  9. Credential pop-up can sometimes remain in a 'blocked' state
  10. Add accessibility textfield on Unified Filters labels
  11. Optimize indexing performance when a lot of Cognos shortcuts exist
  12. Improve PowerBI report loading performance
  13. Save Recursively and Clear Recursively options should not be visible for metadata within Dynamic Folders
  14. Downloading a Cognos report PDF fails due to CAF error (not using the /p2pd dispatcher URL)
  15. Unable to upload certain .mp4 videos
  16. UI frame resizing issue when adding a new connector
  17. Optimize PowerBI report loading time
